Japanese Styles

Final Major Project

This project was part of my Final Major Project for my 3rd year University show. The main concept was displaying the different styles and art forms that are prevalent in Japanese culture. The project was based of my Dissertation which explored the Studio Ghibli movies so I wanted to make the response animated. In my research process, I identified 9 main art styles and techniques and then created scenes relating to them. I made sure to transition between the scenes to make it flow more smoothly, one way being the primary colour palette that stays throughout. I really enjoying animating this piece because I allowed myself to have fun with it and animate things that I never would have thought of, specifically a Robo-Cat.
The process of animating is something I have done on a smaller scale but this allowed me to have fun trialling new things and developing my skills further.
